School Context Statement (62KB)
School Handbook (4MB)
Aberfoyle Hub is part of the Southern Valley SAPSASA district and our district convenor is Janet Harper who works at Woodend Primary School. The schools in our district are Aberfoyle Campus, Braeview, Flagstaff Hill, Hallett Cove East, Hallett Cove R-12, Hallett Cove South, Happy Valley, Reynella East, Sheidow Park, Woodend and Our Saviour Lutheran.
District Sports Teams
Trials are held throughout the year to select Southern Valley District Teams. All Year 6/7's from the schools may attend selection trials. Sports that hold the trials are cricket, football, netball, tennis, swimming, hockey and soccer. If a student is selected in one of these teams they play against other metropolitan teams for a week during term time. Swimming does not operate this way but there is a district team. Students may also participate in trials to be selected for the state team. If successful they compete against other states for a week.
SAPSASA golf is run a little differently. Students try out for selection to attend a 3-day camp where they compete in various golf matches.
SAPSASA also has involvement in other sports like orienteering, rugby, lacrosse, badminton, table tennis and triathlon but Aberfoyle Hub is not currently involved with these sports.
Knock Out Sports Teams
Individual schools may nominate to participate in various sports. Aberfoyle Hub enters knock-out teams in cricket, softball, netball, football, boys soccer and girls soccer. They are currently managed by staff members. As the name implies the team only competes until it is knocked out.
Aberfoyle Hub fielded a Cross Country team this year that competed against other schools at Flagstaff Hill and Woodend Primary School. The team practised before school and performed very well in the local competitions. The Cross Country Championships were held at Victoria Park and athletes throughout the state competed. Students race in either 2km or 3km runs and in age groups.
Abefoyle Hub enters a team of athletes who compete at Santos Stadium against the other schools in the district. The events are shotput, discus, long jump, high jump, 100m, 200m, 800m and relay. Several of our students were good enough this year to represent the district and they competed again at Santos but this time against other district teams.
This school is part of the South Australian
Department for Education and Child Development
trading as South Australian Government Schools.
